Premiering in April, Dynamite Entertainmet's Voltron: Year One will explore the origins of the Space Explorer squad--you know the names; Keith, Sven, Lance, Hunk and Pidge--that ultimately becomes the Voltron Force. Newsarama had a chance to speak with the series' creative duo, writer Brandon Thomas and artist Craig Cermak, about the direction of Year One, as well as its creative inspiration. Both Thomas and Cermak credit a lot of the influence in their upcoming comic to the Voltron: Defender of the Universe animated series, even saying "the only thing we’re treating as official canon is that original animated series."
